Must be in 2nd year or higher, taken required biology and engineering courses, and passed qualifying exam to enroll. Open to non BME students in the research area.

Engineering & Bioscience Fundamentals (18+ credit hours required)
  • At least one bioscience and one engineering course should be taken prior to the qualifying exam at the end of year 1.
  • Credit from prior graduate degree work (e.g. MS or MD) may be substituted for Engineering and Bioscience Fundamentals upon approval of the Graduate Committee. Emory MD/PhD student can receive up to 9 units credit toward Bioscience requirements. MS course work from other institutions must be submitted to the Graduate Committee a syllabus from each course.
